2. Discussion Items
|
|
2.1. Expense and Revenue
Discussion:
Business Manager Molly Most presented the detail check registers for the board to review. The General Fund under budget 24.96%. Lunch Fund under budget 26.02%. The total for August claims and payroll in the
General Fund is $355,093.69 and the claim in the Depreciation Fund is $892.00. |
|
2.2. General Fund Transfers
Discussion:
Making these transfers will allow the district to have 1.4 million in cash reserve. The Lunch Fund transfer pays for salaries and benefits. Activity Fund transfer will pay for activity expenses and officials. Employee Benefits Fund transfer will pay for out of pocket benefit and continuing education. The Depreciation Fund transfer will pay for continuing updates in our building. It is recommended to transfer Activity Fund - $50,000,
Lunch Fund - $100,000, Employee Benefits - $50,000, and Depreciation - $200,000. |
|
2.3. Purchase of a new floor cleaner
Discussion:
In July a new floor machine needed to be purchased. Over the last 12 months we have spent lots of time fixing our current floor machine. Four bids were obtained. For this size of floor cleaner, this was the lowest cost. The cost of a new floor machine was $12,700 after receiving a 25% discount. The floor machine needed to be bought before the August meeting. Policy 3004 states that the board will authorize Mrs. Foster to purchase something over 10,000 if she got the lowest bid.

2.4. USDA Adult Lunch and Breakfast
Action(s):
No Action(s) have been added to this Agenda Item.
Discussion:
The district received correspondence from NDE that the Adult breakfast and lunch prices have to be in accordance with the State USDA adult food price. In the past, the prices had always been above the set amount until this year. The state price is $5.00 for lunch and $2.85 for breakfast. Mrs. Foster would like to set the prices to be in accordance with the state USDA. Mrs. Foster has also had a discussion with the cafeteria to make the adult portion sizes bigger than the students, since the adults are paying quite a lot more. Ryan Stearns suggested to make this an action item to get it approved tonight.
