IV.A. ↵Superintendent's Report
Discussion:
Mr. Karpe gave the superintendent's report. He went over the utilities report and discussed the electric bills for the campus. Mr. Karpe explained to the board about the discrepancy in the city electricity bills brought to his attention by the city manager. She informed him 2 meters had never been read, and 4 meters had been calculated incorrectly. One of these meters is the Leopard Arena. She also stated that starting next month, the electricity bill will be significantly higher than the previous month. Mr. Karpe did not want to contact an attorney at that time. He recommends the city should figure out what is owed by Lindsay Schools for past electricity and then come back to the board for recommendations. Mr. Karpe informed the district employees to be extra efficient in electricity use, and please try to cut down on electricity as much as possible. A board member suggested calling surrounding schools to see if their electricity bills were as high as Lindsay's.
Mr. Karpe gave the drop out and college remediation report for 2022-2023 school year. We had 7 dropouts. This is 2.1% for the district. He also read the students of the month for Middle and High School. |
