VI.A. Superintendent's Report
Discussion:
Mr. Karpe gave the superintendent’s report. He went over the utilities bill, discussion was had over how high the electricity had increased from last year. Mr. Karpe gave the principal’s reports. Elementary raised $2000 for an elementary student hospitalized. The Lindsay EMS, Fire department, and Police department visited the PK, Kg, and 1st grades. Elementary and Lindsay Chamber of Commerce will be teaming up for the Joy Store food drive next month. Several classes have field trips planned and presentations in the auditorium for December. Mr. Karpe read Middle School students of the month, academic teams have done really well this year and Lindsay will host the regional match this week. High School student of the month were read. Mr. Karpe informed the board of the upcoming bond in 2024 and what he thinks the money should be used for. The last major renovation needed on campus is the Auditorium. He plans to visit surrounding schools that have remodeled their auditoriums and to get ideas. He also would like to see the old gym remodeled into a cheer practice facility. The current cheer locker rooms are too small for the number of students we have participating in cheer. We expect that number to grow due to the sport being so successful at Lindsay. Mr. Karpe would also like for the bond money to go towards updating the Heatly gym locker rooms. More discussion will follow as the bond issue grows closer.
