Discussion:  Meeting called to order at 6:45 p.m. by President Bill J Clem

Discussion:  Mr. Thompson gave the Superintendent's report. 
The OSSBA Region 2 meeting here at Mutual
was a great success. Thank you to Jessica
Turner and Marshall Bittner for catering the event,
with Mr. Coon and the FFA students serving. He
reported on the Educational Issues stating that
most of the Educational Legislation is in gridlock. 
The House and Senate Leadership are currently
ghting. The Vouchers/Tax Credits have been
passed by the House, but they are holding on to
it for leverage, the Tax Credits will go to the Private
Schools only, Teacher pay is still being discussed,
 nothing new has been mentioned on the Board
Election Dates, still discussing grocery/income tax
cuts, and other issues.  Mr. Thompson states the
rural funding needs to be done outside of the
formula, and encourages everyone to contact
our local representative.  If anyone would like to
go visit the State Capital, let Mr. Thompson
know, and he would gladly attend with you.
 

Discussion:  Mr. Thompson presented the Elementary School Report.  The enrollment Pre-K thru 6th
grade is 143 students.  Teacher Amazon Pages are still open and will be available all year. 
The Book Fair was last week. Bri worked really hard on it. It was BOGO, and went really
well. Elementary Graduation will be tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m., Elementary Awards will
be Friday at 9:00 a.m., Elementary Talent Show will be May 16th at 1:00 p.m., Field Day
will be May 18th at 9:00 a.m., with early release at 1:00 p.m.

Mrs. Hopper gave the High School Report. The total enrollment is 70 students.  State
Track at Western Heights was the 5th/6th, FFA Banquet was the 9th at 6:30 p.m. and
went well, 5/9/23 Mrs. Green took some students on the STEM Trip, 5/15/23 Letterman's
Banquet at 6:30 p.m., 5/16/23 High School Awards Assembly, 5/16/2023 Miss S-M/Mr.
Irresistible at 6:30 p.m., 5/17/2023 Baccalaureate 7:00 p.m., and 5/19/2023 Graduation
at 7:00 p.m.  

Discussion:  Coach Brad Shryock reported that the students that qualified for the
State Track Meet  did very well  and represented our school well.
Mrs. Nail talked about her 6th graders doing research over decades.
This included Food, Fashion, Automobiles, TV Shows, Music, Inventions,
Political Happenings, etc.  The standing posters that the students had 
made were placed in the library for all to see.
 

Discussion:  Mr. Thompson recommended the hiring of Stephanie Wilson for High
School teacher. All Board Members voted in favor except for Board
member, Daniel Lee.  He stated he had questions he wanted to ask
and discuss and did not want to do them openly, so made a motion to
table this agenda item until Executive Session could be held. The rest
of the board was in agreeance, so item was tabled, and a Special
Meeting was scheduled for Tuesday May 16th at 8:30 p.m. The meeting
will be held at Mutual in the Administration office.
