6. SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT: JEFF THOMPSON
Discussion:
Mr. Thompson reported that information is being gathered for the auditors. The new ac in the gym is hooked up and running. He stated the school will pay all costs up front, then the insurance is to reimburse the school 100%.

7. PRINCIPAL'S REPORT- JEFF THOMPSON AND TERRI HOPPER
Discussion:
Mr. Thompson reported on the elementary. Preliminary enrollment Pre-K thru 8th grade is 153 students. That is up 15 students from the start of school last year. First day of school is tomorrow 8/12, cookie dough sales will start 8/18, the online store will open 8/30, and the Sharon-Mutual Fair is 8/19. We would like to thank 4Hers Cam Atkeson and Delaney Tankersley for painting the softball field wall. It looks great!
Mrs. Hopper reported on the high school. Total enrollment is 44. Volley ball at Corn Bible tomorrow 8/12, and the ice cream social/media day will be 8/13 from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. |

8. LEADERSHIP TEAM REPORT:
Discussion:
Megan Spray present representing volleyball team. She reported that they are happy about the ac in the gym being fixed. Volleyball Camp with NWOSU went well, they are having good leadership during practices, the 8th grade and Freshman are really stepping up, and it has been easy to work with Taloga. They want to thank the Booster Club for covering the cost of camp, and both Booster Club and Board for all their support. It does not go unnoticed.
Mr. Brad Shylock then reported on happenings so far this first week stating we have had inservices the last 2 days. Steven Rogers from the HPTC did our CPR training, and it was fantastic, Carol Stocking spoke on Mental Health and Karla Stone reported on a new technique we can use on google. Both did a great job. We want to thank the Baptist Church in Sharon and the Methodist Church in Mutual for the lunches they provided for staff Monday and Tuesday. It was delicious and very much appreciated. The coaches have completed all of their training, and practices for fall sports have begun. He stated that him, along with many others, are extremely disappointed in the failing of the bond issue, and all the negativity. It was suggested that the school may have to look at becoming one campus, may have to have specific bus stops, etc, to become more efficient to keep school going. Levi Spencer, Board Vice-President, read to the board and audience a letter he had written stating facts regarding previous bonds and their failure to pass. He stated that he has ask why people have left Sharon-Mutual Schools and the reply is they left for better schools and community support. |
