Discussion:  Update on IXL math and reading progress.  3/4th grade girls won Lookoeba Tournament.  PT Conf going on this week.  Drills are done for this semester.  Fire safety this Wednesday.  Halloween carnival Oct 27.  Literacy and math night.  It was a huge hit.  Police Fire and Seniors came to read.  Wellness University HSOK brought people in for nutrition and dental etc.  Book fair went on then as well.  

Discussion:  Baseball team made the state tournament.  They beat Wister in the first round and was defeated by Rattan in the semi-finals.  Congrats to the coaches and players, we are very proud of their efforts this year.
Softball team lost in game 3 of their District play-we had our chances but came up just short. 
Speech One Act Regional competition is Tuesday, Oct 10 in Leedey. If we place 1st-3rd we will qualify for state, which is Oct 26. We hope to do a community performance on Sunday, Oct 22 and a JH/HS performance one day the week of 23rd-26th.
*It is called "Nellie" and is a serious piece about a true account of a reporter in the late 1800s (Nellie Bly) who goes undercover to reveal the ill-treatment of patients in an institution.
Students are preparing for 9 Weeks tests tomorrow and Wednesday.
The Okarche Career Fair is next Wednesday 18th from 9am-12pm.
 

Discussion:  Drainage at Elem PE gym has been fixed.  We can replace the gym floor now.  Portable bldg has been delivered and furniture in.  Kids are in it and using it.  Looks good.

Discussion:  Gen Fund 8.6 million, Bldg 1.5 million.

Discussion:  Question on hotel stay for Stuco State Conf.  Price seemed high.  They were concerned about safety with doors opening to the outside.  Also realized that the price was lower because the price written was for two nights.

Discussion:  Phone call with Rick Miller at BKM.  He went over the financials and the suggestions from the audit of the 2022-2023 school year.  Rent house- contract and rent- addressed that in May this year.  Federal programs- coded properly  Stipend from the SDE did not say we needed to code it a certain way.  Short paid one employee by $800 and will correct tonight.   Technology labeled properly- iPads.    Appropriations entered in OCAS correctly.  1099 or W9 sent properly.  

Discussion:  Curriculum alignment professional development.  Haley Mitchel addressed the board about the program.  Price for 2 days- $12,350.00.

Discussion:  Junior class has met and voted between two locations, the school and the McGranahan barn.  They voted on the barn.  20-10.  Date is April 6, 2024.  Mr. Alig asked how they would get there.  Would like after prom to decide their location, and then decide if going from the barn or from the school.
