Communication/Public Hearings
Discussion:
Mr. Barnett read a letter written by Okarche JH/HS staff showing appreciation for the Okarche Public Schools Administration (Josh Sumrall and GW Parham) and the Board of Education. Mr. Barnett also spoke about how important support is both from the Board of Education and Administration for the Teachers and staff at a public school, and that he is grateful that Okarche has always had good support. Joe Alig spoke about school board policies. He expressed concern for the educational welfare of kids attending our school. He expressed concern over the Superintendent's contract amount. Mr. Alig went over a few code of ethics items from the Okarche Public Schools board policies. One dealing with information going out. Another dealt with not being able to hear complaints about personnel during an open session of meetings.

Elementary Principal - Chris Roby
Discussion:
Testing finished 3rd round star testing. Early literacy finished as well with Mrs. Yost. Christmas concert last Thursday. Mrs. G did a very good job bringing passion to our program. Finished spelling bee. Cooper E will be moving onto Districts. Gifted and Talented went to SWOSU and brought back first on a dog house design, QB- Hennessey came back with first and second place.

JH/HS Principal - G.W. Parham
Discussion:
Thursday and Friday are semester tests. Robotics meet here this Saturday. HS QB won regionals. Going onto Area next semester. Boys Basketball won the Garber tournament. Speech team very busy. Produced two short Christmas plays. They did a wonderful job. Speech went to Marlow. Brought home 2nd place in 3A.

Superintendent - Josh Sumrall
Discussion:
HS shooting sports Senior team finished 6th at State and Gunnar S finished 5th. Girls will play in Tourn of Champions the end of this month. We are the smallest school in it. Hosting 3 rivers tourn here in Jan, Teachers will have PD on Jan 2 and kids return Jan 3. Rob asked how ball fields coming. March finish date.

Discussion:
Rick Miller on the phone. As of June 30th. Act acc: $339,000. Total debt for school dist $26,004,300. Fund balances $14,424,000.00.
7,777,000.00 General fund balance. Schedule 3- repeat of 2. Didn't exceed adopted budgets. Notes of financial statements. Schedule 4: special rev acc- Bldg fund. 1,418,000. Schedule 6- budget info. Have to legally adopt a budget. Budget- Schedule 7 and 8- bond proceeds and exp. Schedule 9- activity fund balances and schedule 10 is balances. All accounts in good shape. Last schedule is 1100: Monitored by OSDE and USDE. Federal monies- Federal programs- overall $247,000 in federal funds last year. Letter- second page: 2022-01: timesheets for gate keeping- need signatures from staff and Supervisor. 2022-2: 1099- W9 present. Companies that use our logo need 1099. 2022-3: Inventory- technology. Need to be sure all are labeled. It has improved a lot. 2022-4: Error in federal project- on the job training code. Overall everything went very well. Staff very helpful. Appreciate the opportunity to do the audit. |

Discussion and possible action on an agreement with the Center of Family Love to clean the stands in the high school gymnasium after home basketball games for the 2022-2023 school year.

Mr. Sumrall- in the past we have had student organizations do this. No one wanted to do this so the Center contacted us and are willing to do it.

Discussion:
Current policy gave the Superintendent the roll to establish procedures on public comment. This now gives the Okarche Board of Education a roll. This is just to put it out where everyone can see it, in an effort to be transparent. OSSBA recommends this one. Other schools have it.

Discussion:
Klint Rother has sent a bid for Shooting range and trapshoot houses. We received $15,000 from Devon and bid is $36,820.00. Timeframe on getting it done- he didn't say.
