Communication/Public Hearings
Discussion:
Mr. Joe Alig addressed the Okarche Board of Education about his concerns with Administration, the Okarche Board of Education and a School Resource Officer. He says he asked to be placed on the agenda, but said he was denied and could only speak under communications and public hearings.
Mrs. Rhiannon Alig spoke about concerns with the changes in our school system. She said the bullying seems to have increased a lot. She would like to see the board implement more policies and procedures. Elementary Principal - Chris Roby
Discussion:
Upcoming events- Elem- spelling bee this week. Each classroom and then overall school. Christmas concert coming up Dec 8th. 7pm at the old gym. New risers are being put in. Thursday we have our Thanksgiving lunch. 150 people per lunch is what we are expecting. Lego League went to competition last week and brought back some awards. Security drills are done for the semester. YAC kids had kindness week last week and finished with youth diabetes awareness. State reports back over state testing- proficient in Science-5th, 3-6th proof in math. Reading- we had some fall behind but we hired the reading specialist and that will improve.

Discussion:
HS yearbook staff awarded the Gold level. Greenhouse renovation started yesterday. Congrats to the Senior Sporting Clay team. They compete at State tomorrow at 3:15pm. FCCLA is running their food drive this week. Elem boxes are overflowing. They are also working with Cloverbuds and made 30 drawstring bags to help those in need. We will be decorating 400 brown paper bags for a Christmas Toy distribution to folks in Canadian county through a church. These bags and Toy contributions will be completed before Christmas Break! Mr. Westmoreland Kylie Bailey named to all state one of 11 actors to receive that honor. HS speech team just started its competitive season by hosting a competition here. Next one is Nov 19th in Marlow. They will present their Christmas play on Dec 11.

Wind protest- judgment was ruled on a couple weeks ago in the wind farms favor. We had $700,000 in escrow that we won't receive. Going forward

Possibly moving meeting location to the library- that is good with Sumrall. Also possibly moving times to 6pm instead of 7pm. Mr. Anderson asked if we could put more in the CD's to help interest rate for the lease purchase.
