Discussion and possible action on setting transfer capacity and policy per Senate Bill 783.
Action(s):
No Action(s) have been added to this Agenda Item.
Discussion:
We set our numbers last meeting but OSSBA came out with policy. In red is optional. I would recommend the first optional in red allows us to grandfather in everyone currently here on transfer. Set a date on taking applications (January 1, 2022) Transfers can still be canceled if there are problems. Rob Anderson asked about opening up transfers December 1. No more board approvals of transfers. Supt accepts or denies by going off the capacity. Appeals can be made to the board. Appeals process choice 1 allows for in person and choice 2 is written appeal. Student transfers for teacher children- it would allow their kids to come without this process. Sped students- depending on facilities and staff.

Discussion:
House bill requires us to have a policy on this. This says we won't teach that one race is superior than another. An employee to send complaints to as Sumrall

Discussion and possible action on a request from an elementary parent to donate an AirDog air purifier for the classroom of their student.
Action(s):
No Action(s) have been added to this Agenda Item.
Discussion:
Parents came and explained the process. They wanted to have the money raised. Mr. Sumrall has looked into the UV light for air units. There is a FEMA grant for them. We would still need to pay an electrician to install. One thing the parents talked about is it may just be for the year. He may have to go in for some medical procedures this year and they thought it would try and eliminate some problems for him. The parents said they would be sure to keep the filter maintained.

Discussion:
Board members heard negative comments about it. Over 2 million to the votech is what they would get from us as a community and it is a school that we have no control over. If you do the math, 2 million to the votech, 11th and 12th can go, that is $225,000 per kid going to the votech if you go off of the kids who said they would want to go- Mueggenborg. Now is not the time- McIlvain. Legislature problem with funding.
