Superintendent - Rob Friesen
Discussion:
Enrollment is at 393. We are waiting on our tech guys to install the vape detection devices. We will need to amend our policy. The city has a policy on vaping. With adopting a new policy, we could have tickets issued if student's are caught vaping. We are discussing eliminating 2nd 9 weeks testing. We would just have the semester tests. We would give the teachers the freedom to weigh the test as they see fit. We would not eliminate the semester test exemption. Graduation is currently set for May 22nd. Looking at moving it to May 15th. 8th grade promotion would move to the 14th, and we may look at eliminating 8th grade promotion all together. We are getting ready for the auditors that will be here Wednesday, Nov 13th. We also have a federal programs audit taking place. The fair board trophy auction is this Sunday. Our first HS home game had roughly 825-850 people in attendance. HS sporting clays competes at State in Acadia this week. 8th grade health conference is also this week. The band building is nearly paid off. We are working on closing out the child nutrition fund. Everything will be ran out of the general fund. We have started receiving the funds from the DCP protest.

Discussion on post-secondary opportunities for Okarche Public Schools students.
Discussion:
We do not currently have career tech affiliation. Juniors have not been involved in post secondary opportunities until this year. Students who work can work 7th hour as post secondary. 3 juniors are currently taking college courses. We also have 5 students currently taking career tech courses. If Okarche were to approve becoming a member of Canadian Valley, it would cost the average tax payer $13 per month per $100,000 property value. With Chisholm Trail, it would be $11 a month. It would cost approximately 1.5 million per year with either one.

Update and discussion on construction project
Discussion:
The gym is 99.95% complete. We have a few electrical issues that are still being resolved. We have occupancy for the band room, and will move over Thanksgiving break. Mr. Friesen showed the board a map that showed where our bus barn will go, as well as the new greenhouse for Ag. It also included future growth.
