5.A. Superintendent's Items, Announcements & Recognition
Discussion:
Dr. Mike Dominguez, Assistant Superintendent, thanked everyone who attended the ribbon-cutting ceremonies for Horace Mann Elementary, Jefferson Elementary, and Will Rogers Elementary. He also thanked everyone for supporting the bond to enable all of the renovations to take place.
Dr. Dominguez also stated that the Shawnee Wolves football team came away with a victory on Friday, October 3, 2025, against Booker T. Washington's football team. Friday night was Jim Thorpe night. The night started off with a meal sponsored by the Junior Service League. The football players wore Jim Thorpe football jerseys sponsored by Sac & Fox Nation, the Wolve Spirit Dancers performed during halftime, and art winners were announced. Dr. Dominguez reminded everyone of upcoming events:

12. Board member comments and announcements
Discussion:
Mandy Hillhouse wanted to remind everyone about City League Wrestling at the Union St. gym.
Mandy Hillhouse also shared that she had been to Jim Thorpe Academy and the chickens were getting close to being outside. Mandy Hillhouse stated that during the ribbon-cutting, at each of the sites, it was fun to see the excitement regarding the new restrooms and improvements. Clif Harden agreed with Mandy and encouraged everyone to remember Pink Out Friday night. |
