3. SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT
Discussion:
Superintendent Rhoades recognized our school counselors for National School Counseling Week which is February 7th - 11th. She also recognized our school bus drivers as February 22nd is School Bus Driver Appreciation Day. The week of February 19th - 26th is National FFA Week. The officers from the Guymon FFA led the Pledge of Allegiance and also spoke to the board about their activities for the upcoming National FFA week. The Jr. High Acadmic Team was recognized for winning first place at Area. They are undefeated and headed to State.
Superintendent Rhoades stated that we still have a bus driver shortage and had posted on Facebook that we may have to cut some routes due to the number of students vs. the number of drivers. She noted that Coach Brown was having a ceremony at the High School to hand out the State Championship rings to the Cross Country Team. The GHS Swim Team competes at State this Thursday and Friday. There will be a send off at 2:30 pm on Wednesday from the High School parking lot through downtown. Basketball playoffs start next week and spring sports have started practices. We have over 90 Jr. High students go out for JH Soccer and 34 kids in JH Baseball. She also noted that we recently received a $16,000 donation to the Automotive class that was started at the high school and a $2,400 donation for coats/blankets for those in need. Both donations were provided by Seaboard Foods. Lastly, Superintendent Rhoades stated that she started handing out congratulations to our Site Teacher of the Year nominations and will finish those up on Tuesday. All will be invited to the March board meeting. Tandy Anderson gave an update on the GSP for the personnel portion. Jackie Yell also gave an update on the GSP for the Achievement portion. |

Discussion:
The board entered into executive session at 6:10 pm to discuss the employment, hiring, or resignation of support and certified staff as listed in Appendix A, pursuant to 25 O.S. Section 307(B)(1); to discuss the appointment of an individual and/or interview candidates for vacant school board seat #1, pursuant to 25 O.S. Sections 307(B)(1) and 70 O.S. Section 5-118; and to conduct the Superintendent's evaluation, pursuant to 25 O.S. Section 307(B)(1). Those present in executive session were Sally Hawkins, Carla Hernandez, Elvia Hernandez, and Superintendent Angela Rhoades. No action was taken by the board of education.
