Middle School
Discussion:
Kerry Gray, Middle School Principal, updated the Board on the Site Improvement Plan for 2012-13. Ms. Gray reported implementing the ICC (Intensive Common Core) program helped increase student attendance by 6%, students out on suspension was cut by 50%, average growth on Power Up reading program was 3.6 grade levels, average growth on STAR reading 1.5 grade levels and they saw no significant gains in math. The site also saw a growth in advanced classes last year and this year. Implementation of Oklahoma Tiered Intervention of Support resulted in the Bottom Quartile reading students STAR test growth of 1 point from fall to spring and 58 Bottom Quartile math students advanced on the OCCT test. They will implement additional instructional time to Saturday School, Math Lab, PRIME and PowerPlus to help with student intervention. Their site goals include 70% of students will perform at the proficient level or above in Reading and Math according to the OCCT test. Twenty percent of seventh grade math students will perform at the advanced level according to the OCCT test.

Holmes Park Elementary
Discussion:
Mr. Bobby Alfred, Holmes Park Principal, updated the Board on the Site Improvement Plan for 2012-13. Holmes Park staff is preparing students for college and career readiness in reading and math per grade level. Their goals for 2013-14 include overall growth of fifteen percent in the number of third-fifth grade students who score one performance level above in reading on the 2014 Spring OCCT exam compared to 2013 results, seventy percent of students, per grade level, will be at benchmark on Dibels Post-Test, average post test-score, per grade, will be at or above grade level on the STAR test, and students will be eighty percent proficient on the Spring Oklahoma State Acuity Test. The teachers will track all students’ progress biweekly during PLCs (Professional Learning Communities) and provide cross curricular lessons this year.
