Discussion:
Middle School presented their Site Improvement Plan for 2011-12. AOI scores went up slightly but not enough to get off the School Improvement list. MS goals include increasing overall API scores by 10% and increase IEP sub groups by 12%.
Freedom presented their Site Improvement Plan for 2011-12. API scores went from 1259 to 1221 last year. Freedom is the only A+ School in Creek County and a Great Expectation Model School. Teachers put themselves on SMART goals. SMART goals assist teachers in analyzing and assessing work done in their classrooms. Teachers feel this has been a helpful tool to use. The sites motto is F.O.R.D. (Focus on Results Daily).
Holmes Park presented their Site Improvement Plan for 2011-12. API scores increased slightly. HP goals for this year include achieving Great Expectations Model School status and establish an active K-Kids Chapter. Their long term goal is to acquire National Blue ribbon school status.
Jefferson Heights presented their Site Improvement Plan for 2011-12. Their overall API score went up 111 points. Ongoing successful strategies include Backpack Program, Renzuli Learning, 2nd year of Great Expectations, OCCT test prep and ability leveled reading groups. New strategies that will be used this year include Title I family fun night, noon reflection, afternoon tutoring, Common Core State Standards Training, IXL math and PLC (Professional Learning Communities). Their 2011 goal is to implement GE practices to improve teacher and student performance while working towards GE Model School Status.
