Site School Improvement Plans - High School, Junior High, Bartlett and Liberty
Discussion:
High School presented their Site Improvement Plan for 2011-12. They improved in seven areas. The 2010 School Accountability Report showed High School making AYP in all areas with the exception of Algebra I, which is taught at the Junior High. The big drop in score was due to almost eighty students included in the Algebra I score that should have not been counted due to an error. This is under appeal at this time. ACT scores are slightly down from the previous year. Successful programs include PLCs, Edusoft, ALCA, Algebra I Specialist, English II Bootcamp, NASA Tutoring, ASI for Special Education and Advanced Placement Art. Some top goals include position Algebra I and English II to be as successful as possible, using EOI specific, data-driven PLCs and implement Algebra I bootcamp for all students including special education and ELL students. Some of the successes at SHS include a National Merit Semi-Finalist, first 4th-year engineering student, largest National Honor Society in school history and 3-time National JROTC Shooting Champions.
Bartlett Academy presented their Site Improvement Plan for 2011-12. Some of their goals include increasing the percentage of students scoring Advanced Proficient in Geometry and English II. Strategies that will be incorporated this year include teachers utilizing Benchmark Tests to assess student skill level and identify low performing students, using the Secondary Math Specialist and working with High School instructors to help build teaching skills, obtain additional resources and learn effective teaching techniques to improve EOI test scores.
Sapulpa Junior High presented their Site Improvement Plan for 2011-12. JH made AYP and if successful this year they will be removed from the School Improvement list. Algebra I is taught at the JH but the scores are included in the High School totals. Their goals include working on team teaching for students not proficient on the 7th grade test, math challenges on Wednesdays and students will have additional math and reading during 4th hour.
Liberty Elementary presented their Site Improvement Plan for 2011-12. API scores slightly went down last year. Some of Liberty’s goals include making API of 1112, have fewer students score unsatisfactory in math and reading, decrease the number of students on P.E.P. (Personal Education Plan) and improve attendance. Successful programs include P.B.I.S. (Positive Behavior Intervention Support), PLCs, Great Expectations and Renzulli Learning.
