Technology in the Class - Eileen Hannaford
Discussion:
Eileen Hannaford, High School English Teacher, has introduced Edmodo to her students and parents. Edmodo is a free and secure online communication source for parents and students with the same interface as facebook. Parents can view their student’s grades, homework calendar and texting ability to the teacher. Students can view homework, grades and the ability to turn in homework. This is an optional communication source. Students like the ability to view their work and communication with the teacher on off hours. This has been a beneficial tool for her students and parents.

Cox Communication Grant - Sarah Christian & Kathryn Williams
Discussion:
Kath Williams, Middle School Remedial Reading Teacher, found a grant through Cox Communication. She received almost $2,500 and purchased Capstone Interactive Library. All of the books are Accelerated Reader books that all students at the Middle School have access to online.

Discussion:
Language has been updated in Policy 540.2.4. It takes out the language concerning pay phones and allows students to use the office phone during appropriate times. Students can use cell phones on campus but not during regular school hours in Policy 540.6.
