3. The Board of Education recognizes the importance of recruiting and retaining employees.  The continued impact of COVID-19 and the critical shortage of Special Education (SPED) teachers and paraprofessionals is more evident than ever before.  When you couple this fact with the unique work that is required of all Special Education employees, it has become very difficult to recruit and retain qualified individuals to meet the needs of our students.  Therefore, a recommendation is made to the Board of Education to approve the payment of a one-time, non-recurring, COVID-19 Recruiting and Retention Stipend for all current and newly hired certified SPED teachers and paraprofessionals and to approve the attached COVID-19 Stipend Plan. 

4. Discussion and possible action to approve a raise for support staff; whereas the amount will be determined once the state aid allocation is received.
