4. Special Policy Update (SPU) from CASB includes minor updates to policies JRA/JRC and KLG, plus a new regulation KLG-R. These changes are pursuant to a state law that passed during the 2025 legislative session (SB25-276) that requires all School Districts to adopt a policy to protect the immigration status of students and their families. The law requires that Districts adopt this policy by September 1, 2025. Because of this short timeline, CASB included information on the Emergency Policy Adoption process. The law included a number of requirements pertaining to data privacy and other security procedures within School Districts, which necessitated more time for policy development on their part.
