Rationale: Executive Summary:

Action on Certified Staff Resignations.

By contract, the teacher may resign without restrictions if they notify the district prior to April 1st.
After April 1st, the resignation is subject to board approval. The board has three options to consider.
- Accept the resignation without restrictions,
- Accept the resignation with the condition that a suitable replacement can be found,
- Deny the resignation, holding the teacher to their contract.
If the teacher elects not to honor the condition of finding a suitable replacement, or not fulfil their contract if resignation is denied by the board, the board has the option of notifying the Commisser of Education. The commissioner may suspend the teachers' certificate.
